Pokémon is one of the most popular children’s entertainment properties in the world. Its expanding product mix is now offered in a automated retail kiosk created by San Francisco, CA-based Swyft Inc. and customized by Palo Alto, CA-based Concept Designs.
Building on Swyft’s X2 and X3 kiosk models, Concept Designs designed cladding that would transform the kiosks and make them unique to the Pokémon brand. The iconic Poké Ball crowns the kiosks, illuminated from within by LED strips, which also light the acrylic edges of the kiosk’s face. The front and sides of the kiosk are covered with powdercoated steel. An optional back plate and separate Poké Ball were also offered to accommodate situations where the kiosk is a freestanding island.
The Pokémon kiosks are being placed in high traffic areas, such as airports, train stations, and shopping malls.
